I grew up in Poland where I always had dogs in my life. As a child I played “dog shows” using postcards with dogs pictures. My favorite book to read was a big book of dog standards which I knew by heart. But with school, then university, and then busy corporate life, I had never had time for a show dog. I moved to the US for my MBA degree and work kept me the same or even more busy. Everything changed when Maxi came along….here is the rest of the story! Today I own health pet stores specializing in healthy nutrition and better products for cats and dogs. When I’m not in my stores talking with customers, I either spend time with my family and dogs or attend the dog shows! And that’s what I consider a great life!
The story begins…Maxi…
Our love for Cavaliers started when Maxi, our Blenheim boy, came to our house. From the beginning, we have been so taken by this little boy with his wonderful, sweet personality. He is full of love and affection but the same time, fearless and very boyish. He has been just an ideal dog with beautiful soft expression of his big dark eyes and sound sporty body – a true Cavalier.
Since he transformed into a handsome youngster, we decided to try showing him. We soon caught the bug and our big adventure with Cavalier King Charles Spaniels began. In no time, we were fully engaged in conformation shows learning about the breed and meeting people who share our love for Cavaliers. We have also tried the agility and obedience training as part of the bonding experience and trying new things with our dogs.
Today Maxi is an AKC Grand Champion, with 2 BOB titles, BOS at Badgerland Cavalier Club Specialty (a big specialty show).
The story continues…Zoe…
Since Cavaliers are so addictive, soon we started searching for our next Cavalier originally planned as a companion for Maxi. After long research, we contacted Sandra Spill of Prima Quartett Cavaliers (www.primaquartett.de ) in Germany, who kindly entrusted us Zoe, our Tricolor girl with a dream pedigree.
Zoe grew into a beautiful girl and after her maternity leave, she gained a very prestigious Championship title at CKCSC USA, the original breed Club, not only wining the points but going BISS. In the meantime, her sire Ch Bonitos Companeros came to the US and became a top wining dog in our country. He crowned his career wining a Breed at the Westminster Kennel Club Show in Feb 2013, his last show before going back home to Denmark.
Zoe is a true Cavalier with the nicest personality you can ever imagine. We love her for being so very sweet and gentle and always wanting to be “in touching” distance to her people. Outside, she is a different species – she loves to run and chase out chipmunks and squirrels and we are always surprised by the transformation from the lap dog to such a hunter.
The next generation story continues….
The first litter of Kissabella was born in 2012. After debating long on a perfect match for Zoe, we decided for UK Ch Pascavale Enchanted, a legendary little dog. He is not only beautiful and has a wonderful personality but he also passes his traits on his progeny and sired many champions in Europe and America. It was very important for us that he was 11 years old which indicated longevity. We had 4 beautiful puppies and we decided to keep one girl who was standing out from the day she was born. Her name is Arabella….
Today Arabella is an AKC Champion with all wins from Bred By Classes. She and has done some spectacular winning – including Puppy Group 2 and a 5 point major (WB, BOW) at the Cavalier Specialty Show (Cavaliers of Delaware Valley Club) or BOB over specials. She is the sweeties little girl ever who makes the world around her better. She is dearly loved and cherished.
